The Doctor Behind The Practice
Meet Dr. David Abri, DDS
Dr. David Abri is a general, cosmetic, implant, oral facial pain, and TMJ dentist, a graduate of the USC School of Dentistry, and the lead doctor and founder of Abri Dental. He has practiced in California for more than two decades and has lived in West Los Angeles most of his life.
His working philosophy is short: take pride in the work, run the practice with honesty and integrity. Patients describe him as gentle and compassionate, which matters in the dentistry he focuses on. Cosmetic cases, implant cases, and chronic jaw pain all need a doctor who listens before drilling.
After USC, he stacked up certifications in advanced restorative dentistry, including training in newer implant and cosmetic techniques. That restorative base is why he plans whole cases instead of single procedures: a veneer plan accounts for the bite, an implant plan accounts for the neighbors and the gums, and a TMJ workup accounts for everything at once.
A dentist who understands restorations, implants, cosmetics, and the jaw joint can plan a whole mouth, not just a single tooth.
Outside the operatory he is active in organized dentistry: a member of the Los Angeles Dental Society, with legislative leadership and past board service at the Iranian American Dental Association (IADA). He founded the Abri Dental group, today ten offices across California, and personally leads the Beverly Hills and Burbank locations.

The Practice
Why patients pick Abri Dental
One group handles the whole arc: the cleaning, the veneers, the implant with an in house surgical team, the Invisalign, and the jaw pain nobody else could explain.
Whole mouth planning
General, preventive, and specialized care under one roof, planned around long term health rather than one tooth at a time.
Cosmetic smile design
Veneers, whitening, and full smile design from a doctor whose restorative training makes results function, not just photograph.
Implant team in house
Dr. Abri plans implants alongside two board certified oral surgeons and a USC trained periodontist. No outsourcing the hard parts.
Invisalign
Clear aligners with an Invisalign certified dentist on staff, sequenced with cosmetic and restorative goals.
TMJ and oral facial pain
One of the few LA practices where the lead doctor treats TMJ and facial pain as a named pillar, not an afterthought.
Care built around the patient
Gentle, honest practice style, evening friendly hours for 9 to 5 schedules, and plain explanations before anything begins.

The Education
USC trained dentistry
Dr. David Abri graduated from the USC School of Dentistry in Los Angeles, today the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, one of the oldest and most respected dental schools in the western United States.
USC's program is famous for clinical volume and comprehensive treatment planning: graduates learn to diagnose and sequence complete cases, not perform isolated procedures. You can see it in how the practice runs. New patients get a full evaluation. Treatment is staged in an order that protects the long game. Cosmetic work is engineered to survive the bite.
The Trojan connection runs deeper than one doctor: periodontist Dr. Sara Tanavoli earned both her Master of Science in craniofacial biology and her DDS at USC before a three year periodontology residency.
USC School of Dentistry
DDS education at one of the nation's largest clinical dental programs, in the heart of Los Angeles.
Plan the case, then treat
Comprehensive diagnosis and sequenced planning, the discipline USC drills into its graduates.
Keep training
Ongoing certifications in restorative dentistry, implants, cosmetics, oral facial pain, and TMJ.
Signature Service
Cosmetic dentistry at Abri Dental
Smile design for Burbank and Beverly Hills, led by a USC trained cosmetic dentist whose restorative background means the result looks natural and holds up for years.
It starts with a conversation, not a catalog. Dr. Abri evaluates the bite, the gums, tooth proportions, and facial harmony before recommending anything. Some smiles need whitening and a little contouring. Others call for veneers or a staged makeover. The plan is built for your face and your budget, with PPO benefits applied wherever coverage genuinely exists.
Porcelain veneers
Thin porcelain facings designed tooth by tooth for shape, color, spacing, and wear, engineered around the bite so they last.
Teeth whitening
Professional whitening for a brighter smile without changing tooth structure. Often step one of a bigger design, sometimes the only step needed.
Smile makeovers
A sequenced plan combining whitening, veneers, crowns, gum contouring with the in house periodontist, and Invisalign where alignment comes first.
Cosmetic restorative work
Tooth colored crowns and repairs that blend in, restoring both the look and the function of a damaged tooth.
Restorative Depth
Dental implants in Burbank and Beverly Hills
Implant dentistry is one of Dr. Abri's core trainings, and the practice backs it with a rare in house surgical bench: two oral and maxillofacial surgeons and a board certified periodontist.
An implant is a small titanium post that replaces a missing tooth root, restored with a crown that works like a natural tooth. Done well, it is the closest dentistry gets to growing the tooth back. Done poorly, it fails in the bone or wrecks the bite. The difference is planning, and planning is the house specialty.
Single tooth implants
One missing tooth replaced without grinding down healthy neighbors for a bridge. Planned by Dr. Abri, placed with surgical support, restored to match.
Multiple and full arch
From several missing teeth to complete arch restoration, including All on 4 style cases with Dr. Dom Medina, an oral surgeon trained at UCLA Harbor Medical Center, with IV sedation available.
Implant site preparation
Gum and bone health decide whether an implant can succeed. Periodontist Dr. Sara Tanavoli handles grafting, recession, and tissue work in house.
Every implant plan here starts with honest answers: whether you are a candidate today, what site preparation might come first, what your PPO will actually contribute, and the real timeline from consult to final crown.

Clear Aligners
Invisalign in Burbank and Beverly Hills
Clear aligner treatment for adults across Los Angeles who want straighter teeth without brackets and wires.
Invisalign moves teeth with a series of nearly invisible removable aligners, switched every week or two. For the on camera professionals around Burbank's studios and the client facing calendars of Beverly Hills, it is usually the right tool: nothing metal in photos, no food restrictions, fewer visits than braces.
Here it is planned inside the bigger picture. Dr. Jessica Chang Liu, Invisalign certified, coordinates alignment with Dr. Abri's cosmetic and restorative plans so teeth land in the right positions before veneers or implants are finalized. Alignment first, then artistry. The sequencing protects the result and your budget.
The Differentiator
TMJ and oral facial pain
This is what separates Dr. Abri from most Los Angeles dentists. Oral facial pain and TMJ treatment are named pillars of his practice and his formal training history, not marketing garnish.
The temporomandibular joints connect the lower jaw to the skull. When they get inflamed, displaced, or overloaded by a bad bite or grinding, the symptoms spread: clicking and popping, locking, morning soreness, ear pain, tension headaches, pain when chewing. Many patients bounce between physicians, ENTs, and dentists for years because the problem sits in the seam between specialties.
Jaw pain lives in the seam between medicine and dentistry. Dr. Abri practices in that seam.
A workup here looks at the whole system: joint sounds and range of motion, muscle tenderness, bite relationships, grinding wear, and the dental history that often started the cascade. Treatment planning is conservative first: bite evaluation and adjustment, custom oral appliances, habit management, and restorative coordination so the bite supports the joints instead of fighting them.
Sound familiar? Tap what you notice.
Six common signs of a TMJ disorder. This is information, not a diagnosis; only an evaluation can tell you what your jaw is actually doing.
Tap any signs you have been noticing.
If you have been told to just live with jaw pain, or handed a generic night guard that never helped, a focused evaluation with a dentist who treats TMJ disorders every week is the logical next step. Patients come to Dr. Abri for this from across Greater Los Angeles, not just Burbank and Beverly Hills.

Where CoverCapy Comes In
PPO insurance and treatment planning
Most of the dentistry on this page, implants, crowns, Invisalign, TMJ appliances, lives in the part of a PPO plan where the fine print decides everything: annual maximums, waiting periods, and what counts as a major procedure.
A PPO plan lets you choose your dentist and shares costs on a fee schedule. Preventive care is covered generously, basic procedures at a middle tier, and major work like crowns and implants at a lower percentage, all capped by an annual maximum. Many plans also apply waiting periods before major work. Different plans fit different situations: some activate fast with little or no waiting, others trade a higher monthly cost for stronger major coverage. The right answer depends on the treatment you actually need.
That is the conversation to have before booking major treatment, and it is the problem CoverCapy was built to solve. Compare real PPO plans side by side, estimate what your treatment costs under each, then walk into Abri Dental with your benefits already understood. The office verifies coverage and writes a treatment estimate, and you already know what the numbers mean.
Annual maximums
The ceiling your plan pays per year. Major cases are often staged across plan years so the maximum works harder.
Waiting periods
Some plans make you wait for major procedures; others start sooner. If you need an implant or crowns soon, check this first.
Coverage verification
Benefits verified and a written estimate built before treatment, so the plan on paper matches the plan in your mouth.

TMJ refers to the temporomandibular joints connecting your lower jaw to your skull. An evaluation with a dentist who focuses on TMJ can sort out what is actually going on.

Treatment planning is conservative first and can include custom oral appliances, bite evaluation and adjustment, habit management, and coordinated restorative work, with physician coordination where the case calls for it.
Often, yes. Generic guards address grinding but not necessarily the joint or bite problem underneath. A focused TMJ and oral facial pain workup looks at the whole system before recommending an appliance designed for your specific condition.
